There are many tourist attractions in Ancient Rome that are amazing. Many of them are hand made, due to having no technology in Ancient Rome at the time. Don't people sometimes think "Isn't it amazing how these people built this and these people built that back in the Ancient times?".
The Colosseum- The Colosseum is roughly in the middle of Rome. The Colosseum is where the Ancient Romans used to fight. The people that fought in them were called Gladiators. Gladiators were originally slaves. Most of the gladiators were male but there were occasionally the few female gladiators. The Colosseum was built in 70-80 AD. The Ancient Romans took 10 years to build the Colosseum. It is estimated that the Colosseum can hold up to 50,000 to 80,000 spectators, which is nearly as much as the Eithad Stadium and the MCG. The Colosseum's original name originated from Latin. The name was Amphitheartrum Flavium.
Roman Forum- The Roman Forum is in the central bit or area of Ancient Rome. The Roman Forum was designed by Vitruvius. For centuries, the Roman Forum was one of the most important public buildings in ancient Rome. The reliefs on the top of the arch represent the victories that Ancient Rome have won against other tribes and all of the other countries they had captured/conquered. The Ancient Roman Forum became a really popular in the Roman Empire, with beautiful architecture and statues.
Roman Pantheon- The Roman Pantheon is dedicated to the Ancient Roman gods. The Pantheon has stamped bricks on the sides of the building. The Emperor Hadrian,(AD 117-138) built the Pantheon to replace Augusts' friend and a commander who burnt into the ground in 80 AD. When walking up to the Pantheon, you can see the inscription on the bricks saying, "M. AGRIPPA. L. F. COSTERTIUM. FECIT" meaning "Marcus Agrippa son of Lucius, having been consul three times made it." Emperor Hadrian never inscrpited his name on any of the building.
Trevi Fountain- The Trevi fountain was inspired by Roman Triumphal arches. The fountain is standing 25.9 metres high and 19.8 metres wide. The Trevi fountain was designed in 1732 by Nicola and was completed in 1762. The figures on the fountain are of Neptune (god of the sea) in the middle of two Tritons.
